Why they came to us
In the client's own words.
Every custom cake starts with a conversation: date, size, flavour, theme, pickup or delivery. It all lived in DMs and notes.
I found apps for quotes and apps for deposits, each with its own monthly fee, and the deposit apps cap how much I can take each month.
None of them joined it up: request, quote, deposit, balance, done.
I wanted one place inside my Shopify admin where I can see every cake and who still owes what.

Step 1
The customer describes their cake
On the website they choose the date, occasion, size, servings, flavour, theme, colours and message, plus pickup or delivery.

The request appears in Shopify admin
Shannon sees every request in her app with all the details, a status and room for notes.

A quote and deposit invoice go out
She prices the cake and sends the deposit invoice as a Shopify draft order, so the customer pays through normal Shopify checkout.

Status updates itself
When the deposit is paid, Shopify tells the app and the order moves forward automatically.

Balance before the big day
The balance invoice is sent before the event, can be resent in one click, and the order closes when it is paid.

Architecture
- Embedded Shopify app built with Remix and Polaris, so it looks native in the admin.
- Requests, quotes and payments stored with Prisma.
- Shopify webhooks for paid orders and draft-order updates keep statuses in sync.
Security
- Shopify session tokens verified on every admin request.
- Webhooks verified with Shopify's HMAC signature.
